NEET Score requirements

Candidates need to fulfill these eligibility criteria if he/she appears for a NEET Exam. Without meeting these requirements candidates are allowed to appear in the NEET entrance exam.

1) Minimum Percentage required for NEET Eligibility

To be eligible for NEET, candidates must meet the following percentage criteria in their 10+2 board exams: 

  • General/Unreserved Category: Candidates must score a combined minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
  • OBC/SC/ST Categories: Combined minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
  • PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Candidates: A combined minimum of 45% in PCB is required.

2) State-Specific MBBS Admission Criteria

Relaxation for Reserved Categories

These relaxations ensure that candidates from the reserved categories get better access to medical education and, therefore, are more diverse and inclusive in the medical profession.

1) Relaxation in Minimum Marks:

  • SC/ST/OBC candidates get a relaxation of 10% in the minimum marks required for apply NEET exam in their 10+2 examination as compared to the general category candidates.
  • For PwD candidates, the relaxation is also applied to their 10+2 marks.

2) NEET Percentile Relaxation:

The lower NEET percentage is required for candidates of the reserved category as compared to general category candidates. The percentile requirement for the general category is 50% whereas for SC/ST/OBC is 40%.
