NEET PG Exam: Result 2025, Cutoff, Syllabus, Counselling

The NEET PG means National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Post Graduate). It is an ongoing computer-based test conducted every year in India by the National Board of Examination (NBE). FMGE is a test, which evaluates the medical knowledge and clinical skills along with the aptitude of those medical graduates, who want to pursue postgraduate medical courses in India.

NEET PG exam contains 200 objective-type questions candidates are given 3.5 hours to attempt these questions. The objective-type written test is said to be one of the toughest in India and there is, therefore, stiff competition for the few places available in postgraduate courses. 

NEET PG 2025 is an online exam organized by NBE for the purpose of admission into MD/MS courses for the academic year 2025-26. The other important information will be revealed by the NBE in the subsequent information booklet, and the examination is expected to be held in June 2025.

NEET PG 2025 Syllabus 

The NEET PG 2025 syllabus includes topics from the MBBS curriculum and is divided into three main sections: Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Para-Clinical. Based on the syllabuses, the candidates should first familiarise themselves with the part of the curriculum that must be mastered to pass the exam. For NEET PG 2025, NBE merely states that the exam would comprise a list of subjects but table B does not have the syllabus in words for preparation.

NEET PG Exam Pattern 2025

The new NEET PG 2025 exam pattern shall be explained in the information brochure which will be prepared by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). This pattern will explain the general nature of the exam the mode of the exam, the language of the exam, the total number of questions that will be tested, various categories of questions, and how they will be marked. 

Negative marking will be implemented in the exam: such candidates will be awarded +4 marks whenever they answer correctly and lose -1 mark when they give wrong answers.

NEET PG 2025 Result 

The NEET PG 2025 result will be released online only in the form of a PDF scorecard. A minimum cutoff is set for the exam qualification and the candidates are categorized in accordance with that. 

For the general category candidates to be shortlisted they are required to get at least the 50th percentile. 

The merit list will be prepared depending on the performance of the candidates in their exams and those that appear on the list will be given admission to NEET PG 2025.

NEET PG Counselling Process 2025

The MCC is responsible for NEET PG counseling for 50% of the All India Quota seats and the rest 100% of the deemed/central university, ESIC, and AFMS seats. 

However, there are still 50% of the state quota seats that are being controlled by state counseling agencies. AIQ counseling would be held several times for the NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates. 

Candidates need to get themselves registered for the examination, pay the examination fees and make their choice involving course and college.

Before any person goes for the application of NEET PG 2025, he or she needs to qualify for certain conditions. The key requirements for NEET PG 2025 eligibility are as follows:

• The candidates must possess an MBBS degree/ Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate issued under the Indian Medical Council Act/Registration Act 1956.
• Candidates should possess a permanent or provisional registration with the MCI or an SMC to practice as an MBBS-qualified doctor.
• Practical training must be accomplished within one calendar year not later than August 15, 2025.
• Presently there is no rule regarding minimum and maximum age for admission to NEET PG 2025.

The first process for NEET PG 2025 is to begin with online registration, as without registration the application form is not reachable. Registration, entry of personal and academic details, choice of exam centre, upload of necessary documents in required size and format, online payment of exam fees, and lastly, taking a printout of the form filled by the candidate. 

The filled-out NEET PG 2025 application forms will be issued by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) which is expected to be released in the third week of April. Also, candidates shall be allowed a correction window and through this, NBE shall allow candidates to edit only some of the details they have filled in their application.

To apply for NEET PG 2025, follow these steps:

• Follow the link to get directed to the official NBE website nbe.edu.in and select ‘NEET PG’.
• Click on "New Registration."
• You should provide personal information such as name, date of birth, email ID and phone number along with the captcha code.
• Then click on the ‘Submit’ button so as to receive your user ID and password on the registered email ID / mobile number.
• Go to the application portal and use the new set of login details.

The form is very brief but one has to fill in his or her personal details together with educational background and preferred examination center.

• Ensure you scan all the documents in the approved size as well as format.

• Finish your application by making the payment of the fee online. Enter the official NBE website at nbe.edu.in and choose the "NEET PG" section.

After the completion of the application form, the form should be printed.

The candidates who have done NEET PG registration by the particular date will get an admit card for NEET PG 2025. To the candidates’ attention, it should be mentioned that NBE will not send an admit card via email or postal mail. 

However, candidates are only able to obtain their admit card through a download from the official website where they are required to enter information including, the application number, password, and verification code. 

Major details such as the candidate’s name and the address of the NEET PG exam centre are provided in the NEET PG admit card. The admit card must be accompanied by a valid photo Identification Card to the NEET PG 2025 examination hall.
