The full form of MBBS course is Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. In Latin, the full form of MBBS is Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae.

According to the latest combined version of Latin and English, it gives us "Medicinae Baccalaureus and Bachelor of Surgery" and hence, we have MBBS. It is an undergraduate medical degree course to become a doctor.

• The duration of the MBBS course is 5 years and 1 year of internship.

• For studying MBBS, students must pass the 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as compulsory subjects.
• Students can pursue MD or MS with different specializations after they complete their MBBS.
• Students who finish MBBS degree in India can become general physicians and can earn 5 lakhs - 12 lakhs per annum.

• The basic criteria for minimum marks can differ, however, the general criteria is that applicants should have at least 50% marks.
• Candidates must be at least 17 years of age and below 25 years at the time of admission.
