Asansol Engineering College (AEC) operates as a private self-financing institute that serves the people of Asansol in West Bengal. Established in 1998 through Society of The Academy of Engineers (India) supervision, the institution maintains its affiliation with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). The college holds AICTE approval while simultaneously being under UGC recognition through Section 2(f) of the UGC Act (1956).  

Engineering and technology programs are available at the college in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The BTech curriculum exists with nine distinctive fields namely Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical among others and Civil Engineering. The college provides MTech (Electrical & Electronics) and MCA as postgraduate courses. Students can gain admission through WBJEE, JEE Main, JELET, JECA, and GATE exam results.
