Delhi University (DU), established in 1922, is one of the largest universities in the country with over 6 lakh students under UG, PG, Diploma, PhD, certificate, and Distance Learning programs. As per the 2024 NIRF ranking, DU has ranked 6th place in the ‘University’ category. It has been recognized as the ‘Institute of Excellence’ by the UGC.

Delhi University has two campuses in the city; North and South. Over 90 colleges are affiliated with the university consisting of 86 departments, 23 centres, 16 faculties, and three institutes spread across Delhi. DU courses include various UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in streams such as Arts, Science, Information Technology, Law, medicine, Management, etc. Some of the popular alumni of DU are Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan.

For Delhi University admissions for UG and PG programs, candidates are required to take an entrance exam called CUET based on the subjects they study in their 12th grade. The seat allocation is based on factors like CUET scores, merit list position, category, and availability of seats. 

DU offers a total of 2509 courses for students in UG and PG levels. The most popular courses offered by them are B.
