Overview
Himachal Pradesh University is one of the most prestigious universities in India. It was established by the Act of the Legislative Assembly in 1970. HPU is recognized by the UGC and has been accredited with an A grade by the NAAC. It has also ranked 51-100 in the ‘State Public Universities’ category as per the NIRF rankings 2024.
HPU has more than 300 affiliate and constituent colleges along with 12 faculty and 18 speciality centers. The university also has 7 institutes including the Department of Evening Studies, HPU College of Business Studies, and HPU Business School, among others.
