Maharaja Ganga Singh University - [MGSU], previously known as Bikaner University was established in 2003 as a state public/government institution. MGSU is recognized by the UGC and is a member of  AIU (Association of Indian Universities). At the time, MGSU Bikaner has 449 affiliated colleges and 150 affiliated B.Ed. colleges across Rajasthan. It is also accredited with grade ‘C’ by the NAAC.

MGSU offers courses for UG, PG, PhD students across different disciplines including Arts, Commerce, Maths, Computer, Fine Arts, and more. Some of the popular courses include BCom, BSc, MA, LLB, MCom, MFA, BPEd, and BFA. At MGSU students get admission based on their merits scored in qualifying exams.

Maharaja Ganga Singh University is spread over 1,100 acres consisting of a central library with 7000+ books, a large auditorium, an indoor stadium, hostel facilities, a sports area, etc. On top of that, MGSU Bikaner offers scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. 

The scholarships are named ‘State Government Scholarship’, Post Matric Scholarship Schemes for minorities like SC/ST/OBC students, and ‘Fellowships and Scholarships for Research Scholars’.
