Admissions

To get admission to SAU, students must meet the minimum eligibility criteria. PG courses require graduation with a 50% to 55% score, while PhD courses require students to complete their 10+2+3+2 with a minimum 55% aggregate in the SAARC-wide entrance exam. Scholarships

South Asian University offers scholarships for eligible students. The scholarship is available from the President scholarship to the Silver Jubilee scholarship, from Merit scholarship to the Freeship scholarships. Below are the scholarship details.

President scholarship

There are two scholarships for the Master's program.
One for each Indian and one for each Non-Indian.

Students must secure the highest rank in the SAU entrance test

SAARC India Silver Jubilee Scholarship 

There are 75 scholarships for master's, and 50% are reserved for female candidates.  

Students must secure a top rank in their respective programs.

Merit Scholarship

There are two scholarships for the Master's program.

One for each Indian and one for each Non-Indian.

Students must secure a top rank in the merit list of the SAU entrance test among the remaining students after being awarded the President and SJS scholarships.

SAARC-Indian Silver Jubilee Scholarship 

There are 25 SJS for PhD students, of which 50% are reserved for women candidates, and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, awards 20% of the scholarships to the students of their choice from existing SAU students and selected students for admission to SAU.

Students must secure a high rank in the SAU entrance test.

SAU PhD Scholarship

This scholarship is given to those students who took the SAU entrance test and are not sponsored by any agency in India or other agencies in SAARC nations.

SAARC scholarship in India means the Government of India offers scholarships to students of other South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.

SAARC India Silver Jubilee Scholarships gives 75 scholarships for master's from SAARC countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

For PhD students, the monthly stipend is ₹25,000 for five years, but the students must not be sponsored by any other agency.

Infrastructure

SAU offers its students a good infrastructure with a hygienic cafeteria, a gym, on-campus medical facilities, Wi-Fi campus, a music room, a conference and multipurpose hall, a study room, and recreational rooms. More details are given below.
