Women's Christian College, was founded in 1915, in Chennai by the combined effort of 12 missionary societies from Britain, Canada, and the United States of America, and placed first among all women’s colleges in south India by the MHRD in the NIRF rating in 2017. Autonomous since 1982, WCC is affiliated with the University of Madras and has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade in 2019. Each academic year is divided into two Semesters: June to October & November to April.
WCC offers a wide range of metacognitive and need-based programs at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research levels. The College offers its students, the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The Semester Abroad Program, Le Tourneau University, Texas, USA and Liverpool Hope University, UK, Short Term study abroad programs with Binary University, Malaysia are International programs introduced in the last decade.
